According to our recent poll, Birmingham fans cannot agree on whether 19-year-old midfielder Charlie Lakin has done enough to earn himself a run of games in the starting XI for Garry Monk’s side.
The Solihull-born youngster is a lifelong Birmingham fan and was first spotted by the Blues when playing for Walsall U9s, but this season he has been promoted from the U23 squad and has broken into the senior side.

Lakin has now made eight appearances in all competitions so far this season, four of which have been starts, after making his full Championship debut in the 0-0 draw with Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. However, he is yet to be given a run of starts by Monk and has been dropped in and out of the team, making it even more difficult to impress.
In the end, 53 per cent of those who voted in our recent poll said that Lakin should be given a run it the first-team, but he clearly still has some convincing to do on just under half of the St Andrews fanbase. Check out the full results below.
