Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho started, impressed and provided an assist for Trent Alexander-Arnold on just his second cap for England on Thursday night, and Liverpool fans have urged their club to sign the 18-year-old.
Having come on as a 78th-minute substitute to make his full debut for the Three Lions in their UEFA Nations League clash against Croatia last month, the talented teenager was named in the starting XI for the clash against the USA at Wembley.
The wide man, who has been in brilliant for the Bundesliga giants this term, set up Alexander-Arnold for Gareth Southgate’s men’s second goal in the 3-0 victory, and remained on the pitch for the full 90 minutes.
Should the Merseyside outfit ever move for the youngster, he would likely compete with Sadio Mane and Mo Salah for a spot in the starting XI on the flanks.
Liverpool supporters were quick to have their say on Sancho’s showing via social media, and while one said they “would sell Mane and pay £100m for him”, another said “need Sancho at LFC ASAP”.
