Celtic have booked their place in the Scottish Cup semi-final and edged closer to completing a fourth consecutive domestic treble with a victory against St Johnstone early this afternoon.
A late strike from Ryan Christie was all that separated the two sides as Neil Lennon’s side will now have to overcome Aberdeen for a place in the final.
The winger’s free-kick nine minutes from time beat everyone, including the home goalkeeper, to hand the Bhoys the win.
It comes just a few days after they were knocked out of the Europa League.
Fans have been discussing the display of anchorman Nir Bitton as he made only his 16th start of the season.
Here’s what has been said…
There were endless superlatives used to describe the 28-year-old’s showing, especially as he moved from a defensive midfield role into the backline, forming a solid partnership alongside Kristoffer Ajer and Christopher Jullien.
It ranged from “immense” to “outstanding” to even “class.”
Bitton was also labelled as “Mr Steady” which was backed up by one supporter claiming that he plays as if he has a cigar in his mouth the whole time – nonchalant, almost.

Plenty of others have given him the nametag of being the most underrated in the squad too…
“He’s got class” and “technically gifted” were two further reviews made on the Israeli stalwart.
