Antony joined Manchester United in the summer of 2022 from Ajax with plenty of anticipation surrounding him, however, the Brazilian has failed to live up to his hype at Old Trafford under both Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim. As such, he left the Red Devils on loan to Real Betis in January having been sidelined by the Portuguese coach.

Antony has found a good vein of form at Real Betis over the last two months, with the Brazilian already making eight goal contributions for Manuel Pellegrini's side. Former Manchester United coach Meulensteen has now urged Antony to remain with Los Verdiblancos past this season.
AFPWHAT MEULENSTEEN SAID
Speaking to AOS, Meulensteen said: "Antony has no future at Manchester United. If I was him, I’d stay at Real Betis, without a doubt. He’s never really lived up to the expectations or the price tag at United, but he’s found his feet in Spain. He seems to be a lot happier playing football and in life generally at Betis – which is the most important thing.
"If he returned to Manchester, he’d fall straight back into the rut he was in before he left, which wouldn’t be good for anybody. I can’t see him returning under any circumstance; it’s probably best for all parties that he joins Betis on a permanent deal."
WHAT NEXT FOR ANTONY?
The Brazilian has admitted that he is unsure about his future with Real Betis, but the club are supposedly keen on signing him permanently in the summer. The potential issue comes with Betis being uncertain about the finances of a deal.
