As reported by The Daily Record, Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha has made the unusual decision of banning his players from wearing green boots next season. The reason? Because that is the colour of their eternal rivals Celtic.
With the club finishing a massive 39 points behind the Hoops last season, Rangers need every edge in their attempts to close the gap but banning a colour of football boot certainly stands out as a bizarre way to do that. Of course, all jokes aside, plenty of work is also being done in the transfer market as Caixinha attempts to build a new squad at Ibrox.
Still, as you can imagine, the banning of green boots has been met with a big reaction from Celtic supporters, many of whom might be wondering if dying the grass at Ibrox is the next step.
Most Hoops fans seem to find it absolutely hilarious, a sign for them that things aren’t exactly moving in a serious, threatening direction at the Light Blues.
