Crystal Palace should make an outrageous move to sign PSV Eindhoven star Steven Bergwijn, as they are in desperate need of some attacking reinforcements to take the weight off Wilfried Zaha.
What’s the word, then?
The Eagles really haven’t performed too badly this season but find themselves in a relegation battle yet again thanks to a lack of proficiency in front of goal. Roy Hodgson has four strikers at his disposal: Christian Benteke, Alexander Sorloth, Jordan Ayew and Connor Wickham.
They have 0 league goals between them this season.
Star man Zaha is the club’s top scorer with three goals to his name, whilst Luka Milivojevic is behind him on two – both of those were penalties in a 2-2 draw with Arsenal.
The defence is arguably over performing and is joint-sixth in the league for least goals conceded, level with Arsenal. Clearly, the problem lies in attack, and is an issue which must be sorted in January.
Who could they sign?
One player who would add even more unpredictability up top alongside the Ivorian forward is PSV’s dynamic winger Bergwijn. The elusive Dutchman has six goals and seven assists to his name in just 13 Eredivisie games this season, and would provide the perfect foil for Zaha to move centrally with Andros Townsend on the opposing wing to Bergwijn.

PSV will not want to sell, but as is the case with many clubs who find their stars targeted by Premier League sides, they simply find themselves in a position where the money on offer is too good to turn down.
Palace spent a total of around £10m in the summer, which means that they really should have some funds in the bank to splash out on reinforcements in the winter transfer window; doing so may just be the difference between survival and relegation.
