Unsurprisingly, this has led to some fans fearing the worst as numerous times this season players have gone down with seemingly inconsequential injuries only for them to miss a number of weeks of action.
For example, Pablo Hernandez missed over a month of football after limping off against Derby after re-injuring himself for the U23s, and Adam Forshaw’s hip problem is still ongoing with no return date scheduled.
Of course, some fans overreacted by saying he’d never play again or that he’ll be out for the rest of the season, but there was general concern around the fanbase that he’d be out for an extended period of time.
It remains to be seen how long the Scot will be out for, but the fans are clearly concerned that they’ll be without the defender for quite a while.
