Silva has made no secret of the fact that he would like to return to his roots at Fluminense before hanging up his boots. He has been working on rolling 12-month contracts in west London, but another extension could be out of the question.
WHAT SILVA'S WIFE SAID
It may be that he works under another manager before walking away from Chelsea, with Mauricio Pochettino falling under mounting pressure during his debut season at the helm. The Blues were alarmingly inconsistent once again during their home humbling by Wolves, with Isabelle da Silva posting on social media alongside a couple of blue hearts: “It’s time to change. If you wait any longer it will be too late.”
WHAT NEXT FOR CHELSEA?
Chelsea have slipped into the bottom half of the Premier League, despite continuing to spend big on transfers, and are now seven points adrift of the top six. Former Southampton and Tottenham boss Pochettino signed a two-year contract when returning to English football, but it remains to be seen how long he will last at Chelsea.
