The Red Devils sit 11th in the Premier League with seven points from a possible 15. Ahead of United hosting Tottenham on Sunday, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has defended Ten Hag's spell at Old Trafford and believes he has done well in a difficult job.

He told reporters on Friday: "I think Erik's in a really tough job and he's done really well. He keeps mentioning he's won two trophies and that's not insignificant, everyone keeps telling me that's all I have to do, but it's not all you have to do, because when you do that there's always more. He's done a great job, a difficult job."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
While Ten Hag has won a Carabao Cup and an FA Cup during his United tenure, the club have spent around £200 million ($268.3m) this summer and there hasn't been a marked improvement in results or the way they play this term. If they don't pick up wins quickly, the former Ajax boss may be heading for the Old Trafford exit – despite being handed a contract extension until 2026 earlier this year.
