Los Blancos have been heavily linked with Trent Alexander-Arnold, who remains their priority to shore up the defence next season. The Englishman's contract with Liverpool expires in the summer and he is yet to ink a renewal. There are fears growing at Anfield that they could lose their homegrown superstar for free.
However, Real Madrid want to take no risks in their pursuit to replenish the squad next summer. They are well aware that Alexander-Arnold could still decide to extend his stay with the Reds, prompting the Spanish giants to potentially accelerate their quest to sign Porro.

According to a SPORT report from 2017, Real Madrid were reportedly close to signing Porro that year, when he was just 17 years old. However, he rejected the advances from the 15-time Champions League winners to sign for Girona.
