Manchester United may have to pay a huge sum for Benjamin Sesko, despite reports suggesting the Slovenian has a gentleman's agreement with RB Leipzig.

claim the RB Leipzig forward was watched by United's new head of recruitment last weekend, sparking speculation of a summer transfer for the 21-year-old. It is believed a gentleman's agreement between the player and his club exists, with RB promising the Slovenian he could walk if a top club offers £60m (€70m) for his signature.

However, it is now believed the German club are looking for a massive fee in excess of £86m (€100m). This would represent a new record sale for the club, who collected £77m from City for Josko Gvardiol in 2023. Such a fee could be prohibitive for United, who will need to cut costs in their squad to comply with the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules.
